This is per-ride pay, not hourly pay. Drivers are on call during their stated availability. Rides, hours and earnings are not guaranteed.

If driver pay is $40, we tell you it is a $40 ride before you accept or decline.

How It Works

Receive a Ride Offer

Dispatch provides the driver pay, pickup time, pickup address and destination.

Accept or Decline

Drivers choose whether to take each ride.

Complete the Ride

Accepted rides must be completed safely, punctually and professionally.

Set Your Availability

  • Applicants choose mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends and/or early mornings.
  • Need-A-Ride contacts them only during the periods they provide.
  • Need-A-Ride operates 24/7 and may offer local, airport, medical, event, courier-support and long-distance/out-of-state trips when booked.

Driver Requirements

  • Use your own reliable, clean, well-maintained vehicle.
  • Vehicle must be model year 2010 or newer.
  • Valid driver’s license from Louisiana, Texas, or any other U.S. state.
  • Current vehicle insurance.
  • Smartphone with GPS.
  • Dependable communication.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Punctual, respectful and professional service.
